The reason is because, all but your sons and nephews are you maharams - the ones who are your guardian and watch over you - It is surely better that a Maharam be a Muslim so that you can be guided in the right direction - Use your discretion
Types of family members to wear your hijab in front of: -Male Cousins -Males over the age of 7 outside of family relations
