Asalamu alaikum!

I've read in the bible where one of Jesus's (esa alaihi salam)named Peter, I think, commands women to dress modestly and cover conceal their hair. When I asked a christian girl I know about this, she stated that this is how they were commanded to dress in that time, because the people were acting wayward and inappropriately and that it does not apply to our time.

But when I think about it, isn't how people behave in this times, much worse than how it was in those days. For example, in those days, women who wore short skirts, and tops that slouched over their shoulders were considered indecent and fit for a brothel. So considering that people dress practically naked in this time, why wouldn't Peter's words apply to the time at present? If Peter were alive today, what do you think he would say? I think the same thing right?

If anyone would like to shead some light on this subject, even christians too..please enlighten us.

Asalam alaikum...

Greetings of peace, dear sisters and visitors. The Spirit led me here with an idea for a future hijab website. When people realize that what the prophet Isa (Arabic for Jesus) said was a rule of Allah, they must obey it. (Call Jesus Lord, like Master, for he certainly knew more than we, but please! do not call any human God).

This webpage for the future, is after more people know and study and apply the commands of God's servants. We do this because we have learned that to obey the Scriptures means health and saftely. Especially, I am thinking of this command Isa spoke:

Matthew 5:27 (NASV*) "You have heard it was said, you shall not commit adultery."

For those who do not yet study the Bible, Isa is stating the 7th commandment of Moses (Arabic: Musa).

Then God has him deliver this to men (and immodest women):

Matthew 5:28 (NASV*) "but I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."

Remember I said that living the law of Allah gives us health? Well, not many realize this today. So, this may not make too much sense, but try to understand that the divine medicine is Truth.

When the righteous are knowing all these things... in future generations, imagine yourself, theoretically, at Sister Deneer's grand-daughter's hijab blog.

You are planning a delightful item to post, reporting a testimony that came from keeping the Word of God in the Qur'an. Something like how your husband established and persisted in right worship after a thousand years history of family abuse.

You are so happy, because your babies are healthy, you have no stress with breastfeeding, and yourself and older daughter are glowing like jewels in a king's castle.

Just then a message tickers across the bottom of the screen:
"Need medical coverage? Get hijab. Get covered!

- JB

*Jocah's recommendation for non-native English speakers is New American Standard Bible, and Hebrew-Greek concordance. Try to blot out any commentary that is false doctrine, and realize with the misery of those who invented these lies. For instance, Allah is not supernatural. That is another Greek myth. Christian Science teaches He is all-power, natural good.

I am a Mormon Christian and yes we are to dress modestly. Many Christian women today would say that is sexism or outdated, but it is still very valid. Though my dress code does not require a head scarf, I would never go about showing cleavage or wearing skirts and shorts that show off any higher than my knees, and that is often farther than I really go.

The hijab is a beautiful expression of faith and obedience. As a woman who's ancestors were Russian, I often were the russian scarf known as a Babushka (taken from the grandmothers that wear them). This is similar to the Hijab but does not always cover the neck.

Dressing modestly gives one self respect and freedom. Its false thinking that many western women have that their miniskirts and lowrise pants give them liberation. Instead it allows them to become objects to men instead of valued as individuals.
